Starve the doubt

We always want to rise above
and soar the skies like a flying dove.

But can we really reach that high
when chains of sin within us lie.

So let us abstain from gruesome grime
it’s never too late for our souls to shine.

It’s only through fasting from vices that we are freed  
to love one another and be blessed with God’s speed.
