Premonitions

How do I fight this strange feeling
it’s kind of sinking in my mind
is it just my baseless fears 
or premonitions of some kind.

What is it that lingers 
so deep in your eyes
I hope it’s not what I think
please tell me it’s all lies.

Why don’t I feel the same
warmth in your hugs anymore
just tell me it’s a passing phase
and you’ll never leave me and go.

I can sense it every moment
in everything you do and say
I feel it’s nearer than I thought it was
the shades of scarlet parting way.

How do I fight this strange feeling
it’s kind of sinking in my mind
