Refuse if you must.

When evil triumphs
and faith dwindles
to the scums of despair 
and hopelessness. 

When every narcissist
seems blessed with enablers
that thrive at the cost
of your kindness.

When you can’t believe 
what your eyes show you
and hearing is strained
for no fault of your ears.

When your flesh is tired
and your soul all worn out
from the winds of change
that are zapped with queers.

When agony and pain
become a way of your life
and shut off from all
you struggle unseen.

When even your own
fail to grasp
the words you say
from what you mean.

Then refuse if you must
for it’s never too late  
to take a stand, it’s not your fate
you have a voice, just let it flow. 

let it echo with a firm No.
